St. George’s University School of Medicine (SGUSOM) is accredited by the Grenada Medical and Dental Council (GMDC). GMDC has been reviewed by the U.S. National Committee on Foreign Medical Education and Accreditation (NCFMEA), a panel of experts organized by the U.S. Department of Education, which determined that GMDC uses standards that are comparable to the standards used to accredit medical schools in the United States.

The collaboration between the Ramaiah Group of Institutions and SGU will enable aspirants from India and around the world to obtain a Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree and have the opportunity to practice medicine in the US or UK. The 5-year Medical Degree pathway allows medical aspirants to experience up to 4 countries and healthcare systems in India, Grenada, the UK, and US. The first year of the pathway is offered at RIMS (Ramaiah International Medical school, Bengaluru, after which eligible students progress to the 4-year Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree program at SGU.
